In the book of Matthew Chapter 5, verses 46-48, The Messiah says: ” For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

What does it mean to be perfect?

We all know the Bible has been translated, so we don’t know if the word perfect is the correct intended word. We should however, strive to be holy. All we can do is try. And to have a repentant heart, meaning, to be willing to “search our hearts” daily, and to repent immediately once we are aware we have sinned. We have help with this. Yashua will bring it to our attention when we sin, and break Yah’s law. It is our choice then to immediately and sincerely repent. And to not make the same mistake again.

” for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.” (1 Chronicles 28:9)

Note: It’s my belief that we don’t have to like everyone. Sometimes you just gotta fight. But we can fight without hate. You can beat somebody’s ass and still not hate them. We can always choose to be bigger and better. And if you’re familiar with martial arts, you know the best fighters are calm. They can take you out without getting angry. I admire that, as someone with a temper that I try hard to control…and am doing a much better job at it, all thanks to Yah.

The man in this video speaks briefly about being perfect. Yes, we have all fallen short – which is why we’re here on earth and not in heaven- but we have a responsibility to keep on trying and aiming higher.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

BUT, “he who endures to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:13).

Be blessed.
