Let’s face, it. There’s a lot of weird, crazy and outright morally wrong things in the Bible. Animal sacrifice, cannibalism (Leviticus 26:29), allowing rape (Genesis 19:8), and sex between angels and humans (Genesis 6:2), to name a few. I basically gave up on the old testament, other than using it as a historical reference.

But that’s OK. Cause Yashua came to shake things up. He railed against killing animals in the church (and in general), having more than one wife or husband, and told us sin starts in your mind, not your actions. He said adultery can be committed by just thinking lustfully about a person, even if you don’t go through with the act. He basically told us to aim higher.

But there’s more. At one point I fell into some of the controversy myself. There’s a whole set of people who believe Paul was a liar, spy, traitor, and not a genuine Christian. I started to believe it too. Then I prayed hard on it, cause I really don’t like confusion. And what I got was that some of his words were twisted by early church leaders for political purposes, and also in translation. Some things he never said were also likely added. That was a relief. Because I really liked Paul.

Now, I’m keeping it even more simple. I stick to the words in red. Yes, the rest of the New Testament has some really good advice, and is super helpful. But I don’t deal with 100% of it. When in doubt, I stick to what Yashua said, the words in red in many bibles. He never said nothing about a woman having to cover her head, be silent in church and other gobbledygook that makes no sense, when you understand that basically all of the female prophets were removed from the Bible we know today. And that Paul walked with women in his ministry who greatly helped his mission.

Some of this is detailed in the Lost Books of the Bible, which really do give a much better picture of how it all went down. And fills in lots of gaps in the Bible. Which most people know was created when the Counsel of Carthage made decisions on which books to include and which to remove. It was a political move and it affects some people today.

But some excellent advice I was given and that makes perfect sense, is that we don’t need a relationship with the Bible – it isn’t the definitive word – as Yah is still speaking today. Instead we must have a real relationship with the true and living God and the Son, which is the only way to the Creator. The Messiah is the door which leads to the Most High. No matter what culture you come from, the door is open and available to you.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” (John 14:6)

So controversy resolved.
