“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28).

UPDATE: I really respect this Brother so please understand this is only a discussion, not an argument. A healthy conversation brings different aspects to the table so all involved can get a fuller picture. And despite the comments below, this video was really inspiring and uplifting…and interesting. Many thanks Brother W.

I didn’t plan on this being a reaction post, which I don’t usually do. So I prayed on it and was told to post this. Please don’t get mad at the messenger. I would love to request for him to speak on his relationship advice in the future in our temple.

The Book of Adam and Eve that was removed from the modern Bible appears to have a more in depth spin on this. And provides a really good perspective on the fall from grace after they departed from the garden of Eden.

God is much bigger than the Bible. To deny this fact (not saying this was denied in the video cause it wasn’t) isn’t right as it puts a limit on the power of this most Magnificent and Holy being. We ain’t authorized to do that. When we learn directly from Yah, we don’t need to study the Bible. Read yes, study no. That’s the benefit of being reborn. When reborn we hear directly from the Most High.

And Yah provides the insight and understanding of what we’re reading, dreaming, etc. And direction on how to navigate this maze called life day by day, minute by minute. We don’t need to consult a scripture when we have the opportunity to instead seek the Messiah’s guidance.

Not taking away from the power and wisdom in the Bible, just putting things in perspective. I want to study God up close and personal, like the people who wrote the Bible did. If everyone took the time to do this we wouldn’t need a Bible. It never tells us to get close to the book itself, but to “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4). The prophet said when the Lord makes a covenant with Israel, “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.” (Jeremiah 31:33). Note he didn’t say he would write it in a book, but imprint it directly onto his Creation.

And if we have a real relationship with the Most High, we want to study the person we’re in relationship with. Which is best (keyword best) done by communicating, listening and talking directly, not through the words of others such as the Bible, which can be helpful, but isn’t the most ideal way to get to know Yah intimately.

The “covering” theory should be debunked by now. Marriage isn’t generally related to salvation. Paul said, ” Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife. But if you do marry, you have not sinned… But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.” (1 Corinthians 7: 27-28). Yeah it could be argued that that message was for those people at that point in time, but if you read it again it seems he’s talking in a general sense.

Here’s another perspective on roles in the household, based on personal experience and a whole lotta prayer. My first marriage was pretty good overall. I met my husband when he knocked on my door to ask for the number of a mutual friend. I had only known him casually, we’d never spoken before. So a convo sparked and he told me he had just gotten saved. I told him congrats and he invited me to a bible study meeting. The rest was all she wrote and we were married about 2 weeks later. (That wasn’t the best move in hindsight. And for those who really want to know, we were forced into marriage by a preacher who said he’d kick us out the church if we moved in together without being married. So it wasn’t a God-ordained marriage, and we had no children though we tried.)

In terms of roles, I let him lead. I thought it was the right thing to do. But as time progressed, he kept making bad decisions. And we were both miserable and therefore unprofitable. And unable to bear fruit for Yah.  Then I realized we’re supposed to do this equally. Then he confessed that he preferred my making decisions cause he trusted and respected my insight. He wasn’t weak; he was strong enough to know his weakness was not getting close enough to God to listen in order to make better decisions. So in a nutshell, there are no defined roles. If you’re in it for the long haul, you each give 100% and let Jesus make the decisions, which you both cosign.

I personally don’t believe I can do a thing without help from the Most High. As the King of Kings stated, “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” (John 5:30).

Psalm 127:1 – “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it.”

But to each his own, what works for you works for you, as long as the endgame is salvation, holiness, repentance and rebirth.

As for the Bible, other than the words and commands of the Messiah himself, the bulk of it was written and badly edited and misinterpreted mainly by men, who cut women and their achievements out of the text. Just facts folks.

[See The Messiah’s Commands ]

Notice that the Messiah, (God in the flesh), never spoke on gender roles. It can be (not always) deceptive to focus more on the commands of men in the Bible than the mandates of the Messiah himself! Men & women aren’t usually perfect, without sin, and did not die and resurrect for us. So their opinions can’t trump the Word of God spoken directly into our hearts.

“For the word of God is living and powerful,” (Hebrews 4:12) meaning, The Word is the Messiah himself. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1).

Therefore the Bible is not the word of God, because the Bible is not God.  It is the Word of God interpreted by men. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 TImothy 3:16). Again just facts. Take it to the Most High if you have issue.

The Word of God is Messiah, a living being not an earthly book. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” (John 1:13)

I thank Brother Werks from my heart for his dedication. And because he opened the door for this discussion. It’s important for us, especially women, to realize we must do what we’re individually called to do, not what a book or person tells us to do. That would be disrespectful and offensive to the Creator.

That book or that man/woman won’t be with us to plead our case on the day of judgment and to answer as to why we were disobedient. This calls for discernment. The Word is living, which means it isn’t limited it’s active. If God can speak through a donkey, there’s no boundary to what he/she can use a human made in his/her image to do.

The preachers that touched me the most were female. Although some inspired preachers like Brother W do their thing also! Again it’s individual, not related to the body you were given. It’s much deeper than the physical.

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28). Pray on this please.

I appreciate this Brother and suggest anyone reading this support his ministry. He’s doing some good works, no pun intended. Blessings.

ORIGINAL

Disclaimer: Brother Werks talks a lot. But he says good stuff, keeps it real and keeps you entertained. I have NOT watched this video in full, only the first 3 minutes so far. But he asked us to share it and so I will. I have disagreed with some of his opinions before, mainly because it seems to me, in my humble opinion, sometimes the Brother needs to go a lil bit deeper…sometimes. At other times, I’m clapping and applauding his wisdom.

BUT, he’s doing Yah’s work and I also applaud that. He’s a humble dude and when people point out his wrongs to him, he acknowledges them and thanks them for it. I believe he knows we can always learn more and go higher until we reach perfection in the spirit. When I watch it in full, I may come back with more comments.

From my knowledge the reason some women have period cramps is purely healthwise. I have never had cramps so I don’t know where he’s going with that but I’m willing to be open minded and hear him out. Like I said, the Brother cracks me up. True Believers are like pieces in a giant puzzle and we need each other. So whether right, wrong or indifferent, anyone who’s at least running this race gets respect in my book. Blessings.
