There’s been a question plaguing my mind for long time. I wanted to know why some people are chosen to have heaven and hell visitations, and why others are given dreams and visions. I wanted to know why, since if everyone had a chance to see the pits of hell, there would be 100% repentance. It’s said that everyone in hell repents…but it’s just too late.

And the answer didn’t come for a long time. Until I forgot the question, although it still floated through my mind from time to time. And today it was given to me.

Yah is truly a jealous God. Not like an earthly jealous, but jealous nevertheless. She knows what she has in store for true Believers, and wants 100% devotion because it leads to everlasting life, not because God is petty, for She is not.

She only speaks to those near enough to hear. And those are the prophets, the dreamers and the visionaries. All others must get the message through them. Because they refuse to come closer to get it for themselves. When I heard this, the light bulb just about exploded in my mind!

So it’s just that simple. Everyone is equally eligible, but is everyone equally devoted? This is why the prophets are told if they don’t speak what they hear, blood will be on their hands. This is why Jonah was swallowed by the whale, for being disobedient. Because God chastises those whom She loves. She gives much, so also demands much. It’s always an equal balance or even more than equal. Blessings.

“Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ” (Luke 16:27-31)
