“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” (Joshua 24:15)
What is a Holiday?
It’s supposed to be a Holy day, a special day. A day devoted to the Most High Yah. But since the devil has infiltrated and is controlling society, instead of true holy days that were given to us, we have created man-made holidays that are idolatrous and commercial. Mothers Day, Father’s Day and birthdays are not holy and can be considered self-idolatry. They are not special at all since every single person has a birthday, and an earthly father and mother. That’s not to say that parents shouldn’t be appreciated because they should. But why not do it on a daily basis instead of waiting for a certain day to ‘celebrate’?
And why not give gifts whenever we feel like it instead of waiting for Christmas (pagan holiday) or someone’s birthday (self-idolatry)? Make every single day a gift-giving opportunity! Tomorrow isn’t promised, so waiting for Valentine’s Day to show your appreciation isn’t the best way to go. But hey, do you…understanding that the Most High is watching.
The Bible says “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9)
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8)
Which is better, to celebrate a day created by man for man, or a day dedicated to God?
